La GÉOTOME DUAL possède deux espaces de travail :
D’un côté : le tronçonnage des échantillons de roche DÉBITER / FAÇONNER / AMINCIR. Le côté tronçonnage accepte tous disques diamantés d’un diamètre de 250 mm. Doté d’une table longitudinale à mouvement manuel, il permet de débiter la roche et de façonner le sucre. Une fois le sucre encollé sur une lame mince, il est possible de l’amincir à une côte fixe ou variable, grâce à un étau à vide, mobile ou non, qui vient se fixer sur la table.

De l’autre côté : le prépolissage des lames minces. RECTIFIER. Le côté rectification de la GÉOTOME DUAL permet de rectifier ou de prépolir jusqu’à 4 lames minces simultanément. Maintenues par un portoir à vide, les lames sont rectifiées grâce à une meule boisseau diamantée de diamètre 175 mm à liant résinoïde, métallique ou vitrifié.
